I have a question...

2 Corinthians 5:17~ "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

My question is this: Have the old things in our lives truly passed away? or have they been simply pushed to the side? That word "if". If you are in Christ the old things, old attitudes, problems, sins, should be gone. If you are in Christ those old things will be passed away- that's a fact. All things have become new, that means EVERYTHING. God has really been convicting me about this. Why should we any longer justify our sin, or each others sins. Sin is sin. Why are we so quick to make sin look like innocent mistakes? If we are not new creatures living and waking in the newness of Christ we aren't in Him. Isn't that what this verse says? So, no more justification or excuses we are either going to be Christians or we aren't. We are called to be people who do things not talk about them.
Purity. That is the word Jesus Christ is calling His people to. We need to washed. Blameless without blemish. Are we washed? Is the desire to be washed even there? When are we going to have to stop being begged to serve Him and do it? we need to live in the Truth, are we? really??

"Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you-- unless indeed you fail the test?" 2 Corinthians 13:5

1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:
1Pe 1:23 having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.
1Pe 1:24 For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:
1Pe 1:25 But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.
